In the SharePoint site click on the Settings icon on the Topbar and click on Add an app link. Here a lot of pre-defined list templates available such as Tasks, Contacts, Announcement, Calendar, and many more. The pre-defined fields have included a lot of pre-defined columns, this will be minimizing the user timing while setting up the list of libraries.

Create a Pre-Defined list

If the user would like to create the Contact list, they can select the Contacts and enter the List name and create it. It includes the Contact person Name, Company, Phone, Email, and all useful information about the contacts.

Create a Custom list

If the user would like to create the custom list, then they can choose the “Custom List” and create the list. In this list only include the Title column if you need to add the column you can create it.

If the user would like to create the column then they can click on the “+ Add column” link to create the column. Default column data type will be displayed here, you can choose and create the column what you need. You can also click on the More link to open the Create Column page and choose the data type, also here you can make the additional column settings of Require field, Enforce unique value, the maximum number of character and more.

Edit Columns

If the user would like to edit the column setting, then they go to Settings -> List settings. Under the Columns section select the column that you would like to edit, it will open the Edit column page. Here you can change the Column settings.
